School Profile

Granada School is dedicated to developing and maintaining a philosophy of respect for all members of our school community. We have high expectations for all students, teachers, and staff. We strive to meet the diverse, multicultural needs of our students by fostering a lifelong love of learning, and developing responsible, confident, educated citizens through a school/home/community partnership that will advance into the 21st century.

Granada School maintains consistent enrollment. We began the school year with 21 classes in Kindergarten through eighth grade. In grades K-3, class size reduction provides classroom settings at a student-teacher ratio of 24:1. In addition, Granada School is the location for the District’s deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) program.

We continue to seek ways to improve parental and community involvement. Parents are very important members of the Granada family. The Granada staff works with parents to encourage increased involvement with our school and their children’s education. All parents are invited to attend parent workshop opportunities that provide helpful strategies for success and clarify information on many school related issues.

Parents volunteer throughout the school, including in classrooms, on fieldtrips, and in other curricular and non-curricular activities. The total number of volunteer hours Granada School accumulated in the 2013-14 school year was 7,019. This successful collaboration between a highly skilled and dedicated staff and cooperative, supportive parents has contributed to our school’s continued improvement.

We invite you to become a partner in the education of our students and welcome your attendance and participation at our school functions. We believe that our school goals can best be achieved through a cooperative effort by students, school staff, parents, and the community.
