Jester and Pharley Phund - Reading Program
Granada is participating in the Jester and Pharley Phund: Reading Makes a Difference Program. On March 6, 2018, we had our kick off assembly to inform students about the program and encourage everyone to participate in making a difference through reading. Each classroom teacher received their very own The Jester Has Lost His Jingle book to reread or reference to with students regarding the program.
Granada's participation in the Read-A-Thon will benefit children at the Huntington Hospital as children there will receive their very own The Jester Has Lost His Jingle books and dolls. All participants will receive a certificate at the end of the Read-A-Thon. On May 10, 2018, we will have a recognition assembly to recognize the classes who have read the most pages in each grade level as well as the top reader of each grade level.
Please encourage your child to participate in the Read-A-Thon to make a difference in the lives of children staying at the Huntington Hospital.
On May 10, 2018, the Jester and Pharley Phund returned to Granada to hold a recognition assembly for the Read-A-Thon and to donate The Jester Has Lost His Jingle books and dolls to the Huntington Hospital. They recognized the classes who have read the most pages in each grade level as well as the top reader of each grade level. Congratulations to Granada for reading a grand total of 119,480 pages during the Read-A-Thon! Granada students will continue to keep reading as they know that reading is empowering. Thank you to the Jester and Pharley Phund for bringing this reading program to Granada to promote reading and teach empathy for others.
